Beauty industry brand managers, package designers, marketing teams and others will once again be heading to Manhattan’s Center 415, at 415 5th Avenue as MakeUp in NewYork opens its doors on September 12-13. It will be the 8th NYC edition of the popular annual B2B event. This year’s two-day show will host more than 110 exhibitors from 15 countries.
More visitors are expected than ever before according to Sandra Magourian, MakeUp in… co-founder and director of the show—in part due to an expanded conference program, that’s always generally SRO. Magourian tells Beauty Packaging: “Never before has the MakeUp in NewYork show hosted such prestigious speakers, including this year’s selection of indie brand founders, influencers and trends agencies.” Another highlight, says Magourian, will be a special celebration of the Fashion Institute of Technnology’s (FIT) 30th Fashion & Beauty program anniversary. “These are two days,” says Magourian, “that are essential to makeup and skincare brands looking for innovations and inspiration from exhibitors.”
This year’s visitors will get to review products and services from 26 newcomers in full service, packaging and contract manufacturing, including Wista Industria from Brazil, Intercosmetic from Malaysia, CMI Advanced from Italy and Cosmopak from the USA.
“A truly international event,” according to Magourian, “regulars” will include Crystal Claire, Shya Hsin, Geka, Schwan Stabilo, Asquan Group, B. Kolormakeup & Skincare, Tecnocosmesi, Nippon Shikizai, Coson, Yonwoo/PKG, Axilone, Cosmax, Cosmetic Group, Ancorotti, Englewood Lab, Oxygen, Qualipac, Roberts Containers, Weckerle, Faber Castell, Wormser and many others.
An intense program of conferences will run under the direction of Karen Young, president The Young Group. In addition to trends and indie brands, topics will include start-up incubators, what’s new in packaging and formulation and the Millennial FavorITe (a selection of the three top innovative products selected by FIT students). A conference on Skin Care has also been added this year.
A new color trend display by Beautystreams has been created exclusively for MakeUp in NewYork. And of course, attendees and brands alike await the bounty of the MakeUp in NewYork Innovation Tree, for an up-close look at which products from exhibitors were selected by a panel of judges as “most innovative.”
