At Koa, ideals matter, and the brand says it is working daily to build a better skincare brand: “elegant, effective products at an accessible price point ($18-$27) with sustainability and environmental advocacy at their core.”
Taking inspiration from their Hawaiian and Japanese roots, Koa infuses their gender-neutral skincare products (including cleanser, moisture, toner) with natural botanicals like Japanese yuzu, Hawaiian kukui nut and Pacific giant seaweed while offsetting carbon emissions throughout their supply chain. They use recycled and recyclable materials in all their products, and contribute 1% of proceeds toward preserving the oceans.
Koa currently uses recyclable plastics for primary packaging, but is looking to transition to alternative substrates for their next production run. They are investigating aluminum and bioplastics, but say they are having a hard time finding suppliers who can make high-grade containers to their spec using these materials.
