Vigon International has earned a spot again this year on the list, the 2017 Best Places to Work in PA. This is the sixth time in the past seven years that Vigon has won this award. Last year, the company ranked No. 44.
The awards program, created in 2000, is one of the first statewide programs of its kind in the country. The program is a public/private partnership between Team Pennsylvania Foundation, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the Pennsylvania State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management, and the Central Penn Business Journal.
Employers are categorized based upon the total number of employees they have in the U.S. -- 15 to 99 employees, 100 to 250 employees, or more than 250 employees. There are 100 winners, total.
To earn a spot on the list, Vigon passed an extensive evaluation that included a look at its workplace policies, practices, philosophies, systems and demographics. The second part of the process, which accounted for 75% of the company's total score, was an employee survey.
Vigon International, Inc. is a privately owned manufacturer and supplier of flavor, fragrance, and cosmetic ingredients. Vigon develops and maintains strategic partnerships with global ingredient manufacturers providing ingredients and servicing customers in select flavor, fragrance, and cosmetic market segments.
