Christian Louboutin has signed a long-term licensing deal with Puig. The agreement is for the creation, development, and distribution under the Christian Louboutin brand name, in the luxury beauty category.
WWD and Europa Press have reported the following statements.
Christian Louboutin says, "I am happy to continue this adventure with the Puig family. When I met Marc and Manuel Puig, I immediately understood that we had a lot in common. We are a family business, we speak the same language and we are both passionate about what we do. Puig can develop my vision of beauty in accordance with the values of the brand."
Marc Puig, Chairman and CEO of Puig, states: “We are delighted to sign this agreement with Christian Louboutin. We respect his brand and creativity and we want to build on his original and innovative presence in the beauty territory.”
Christian Louboutin first partnered with Batallure Beauty in 2012 to establish Christian Louboutin Beauté.
Christian Louboutin's chief operating officer and general manager Alexis Mourot states she would like to thank Robin Burns-McNeill, Sam Ghusson and Batallure Beauty, who "have been great partners for the last five years.” She adds, “Puig is the best partner to bring our beauty business to the next level while understanding and protecting our DNA and keeping our existing high positioning in the market. As we strongly believe in our potential in beauty, we’ve decided to sign a license agreement."
Christian Louboutin first made a splash in the beauty world with its luxe nail polish packaging modeled after a sky-high stiletto heel. The brand continued to surprise its fans with luxurious gift sets, lipstick packaging that doubles as jewelry, and a fragrance collection -- followed by a mini nail polish line last year.
