Rokael Lizama, "makeup artist to the stars," has worked with Beyonce, the Kardashians and Mariah Carey -- and now he is launching his own makeup brand -- Rokael Beauty.
Lizama revealed the brand's new elephant-shaped logo on Instagram, and shared the inspiration behind the design. See it above -- and in his Instagram post embedded below.
Lizama posted: "...this brand has been a dream of mine since I was in high school and I never imagined that after so many years this moment would be here. I want to share the story behind the logo and what I wanted it to symbolically portray, I chose an elephant because elephants to me represent how I envision we could all be! Powerful and strong a beauty to be admired but also can be docile and gentle like the beauty of humility. The ears represent heaven and earth constellations and diamonds mirroring each other...And finally the elephant trunk forming the number 8 the number of infinity representing transcendence of all barriers and limitations may kindness and love rule forever."
Refinery29 recently interviewed Lizama, who moved from Mexico to the U.S when he was five years old. He spoke about living in his car as he was trying to make it as a hairstylist when he was 19 years old-- then he switched to focusing on makeup. He met actress Lilly Ghalichi of The Shahs of Sunset, and his career started to take off.
Now most known as "Beyonce's makeup artist," Lizama has been doing Beyonce's makeup on and off since 2015.
