Amway, the maker of Artistry cosmetics and Nutrilite supplements, is making some changes to tighten up its business.
According to MiBiz.com, a MI-based online news outlet, Amway Corp. is cutting six percent of its global workforce. The report contends that layoffs will impact approximately 900 people with the majority of those staffers based at the direct-seller’s headquarters in Ada.
MiBiz is also reporting that Amway plans to combine its personal products and skin care production into one facility in Ada, and will outsource its home care production. In addition, as part of the restructuring, Amway may move some of its Nutrilite manufacturing capacity from its facilities in Buena Park, CA to West Michigan.
“Whether voluntary or involuntary, with so many of our colleagues and friends departing Amway, we recognize that things will look, feel and seem different for some time to come. The Global Leadership Team is committed to continuing work started to improve the overall employee experience, and we will stick to the intense prioritization we have set forth. This will not end up as a ‘just do more with less’ workplace,” read a memo from Amway to its employees.
