IT Cosmetics is collaborating with Skin Match Technology, a beauty tech company cultivating transparency and inclusion in the beauty industry by delivering AI software to help brands incorporate new technologies into their consumer experience and relationships.
For consumers, finding the correct foundation or concealer for their skin tone can be complicated and they may find themselves going through a process of trial and error. Skin Match Technology has developed a shade finder that gives consumers digital recommendations from the comfort of their own homes.
Matching Users with the Right Products
The shade finder by Skin Match is based on an extensive database of over 100 Brands, 6000 products and 112 different skin tones. Using this data, the AI cross matches the existing product that the customer is using with the IT Cosmetics inventory in the database in order to find the best match but also the correct CC+ Cream and matching Concealer for the customer's skin type and tone.
Customers can also find their shade from scratch. Should customers have never worn foundation before or not have any shade reference, there is a dedicated part of the AI which establishes their undertones and pairs them with the perfect foundation shade.
IT Cosmetics saw a need for this digital solution due to the pandemic. Many of their customers could not test different shades in-store anymore, so they were looking for a solution online.
“57% of consumers don’t buy cosmetics because consultations are absent. Consumers truly depend on brands to be there for them, which is why Skin Match Technology’s digital solutions are adaptable to any market to allow brands to always be there for their consumers and provide a truly innovative service no matter what,” said Skin Match Technology co-founder and CEO, Estella Benz.
