Benedetto Conversano has been hired as chief digital and information technology officer at Avon Products Inc. A former Procter & Gamble Co. executive, Conversano, rose to be global business services leader and chief information officer for P&G Italy during 15 years with the Cincinnati-based manufacturer. At P&G, Conversano built customer relationship management and sales force automation systems. He will be responsible for developing a new digital strategy for Avon while building and standardizing technology solutions and delivery across the global organization. Avon is creating a digital board comprised of digital, commercial and other business leaders, which Conversano will lead. In this newly created position, Conversano will report to Avon COO Jonathan Myers, who worked at P&G for more than 20 years and rose to be general manager for P&G oral care and feminine care for Greater China. Myers joined Avon in September.
