Smashbox, the cosmetics brand most known for its Photo Finish Smooth & Blur Primer, has announced that it is exiting the UK and Ireland at the end of September.
In a recent post on Instagram, the brand said: “An accumulation of challenges has sadly been more than our business can withstand and we’ve had to make the heart-breaking decision to no longer accept orders in the UK and Ireland beginning September 29, 2022.”
Furthermore, the brand says gift cards can no longer be purchased and that existing gift card balances will only be honored until the end of September.
Smashbox will continue to sell in various other markets around the world.
Earlier this year, Smashbox “reinvented” its primer category with a new collection of innovative, skin-defending Photo Finish Silkscreen Primers, each with different ingredients and benefits.

About Smashbox
Smashbox was founded in L.A. in the ’90s by brothers Dean and Davis Factor, great-grandsons of Hollywood makeup artist Max Factor, out of their photo studio. It was acquired by The Estée Lauder Companies in 2010 as part of a plan to expand into specialty retail shops, like Sephora. At the time, sources estimated that the purchase price was between $200 million and $300 million.Earlier this year, Smashbox “reinvented” its primer category with a new collection of innovative, skin-defending Photo Finish Silkscreen Primers, each with different ingredients and benefits.
