Meitu, the developer of the mobile app MakeupPlus, has announced the launch of an exclusive virtual makeup look created by makeup artist Lisa Eldridge. The look is available for "virtual try-on" through the app.
Eldridge is the first makeup artist to utilize virtual makeup try-on through augmented reality, according to Meitu. Eldridge was also the first makeup artist to create her own website and blog, and the first beauty pro to produce YouTube videos.
The MakeupPlus app features Meitu's advanced proprietary facial recognition to map each user's unique facial features, and allow users to try on makeup looks instantly. Users can test looks and techniques befoe buying a product. There are also in-app tutorials and product recommendations.
Eldridge says, "The first time I saw MakeupPlus I was blown away by the accuracy and precision of the technology and recreated looks. The ability to be able to instantly try on a new makeup look is revolutionary. It really brings the fun and experimental quality of makeup to life, you can lose yourself in this app and emerge feeling inspired to try new makeup ideas."
Liz Goodno, Senior Global Marketing Communication at Meitu, adds, "We are so excited to feature one of Lisa's beautiful makeup looks on MakeupPlus, and to inspire our global user base to bring this look to the real world using Lisa's famously easy-to-follow tutorials."
