Teeth whitening has moved from dental offices to being an off-the-shelf beauty product, and Macy's is getting in on the trend.
Macy's has partnered with SmileDirectClub to launch the company's new Smile Kits, which are exclusive to the retailer, and available in one-hundred Macy's store locations.
SmileDirectClub's Smile Kits retail for $79 at Macy's, and contain small, medium and large sizing trays -- plus a teeth-whitening gel. Consumers must register the smile kit online, and the company will overnight your custom impression tray size, along with putty to make dental impressions, and a bright on LED accelerator light to speed up whitening.
The completed impressions are used to create a personalized "smile plan," which is overseen by a dentist or orthodontist licensed in your state. A complete teeth-whitening regimen costs $1,850 as a one-time payment or $80/month for 24 months as a subscription plan.
