Since eye makeup seems to be taking the place of lip color due to face coverings, there's a new beauty tool -- Miné Stencils. They promise "flawless eyeshadow, every time," the brand says -- and patented its method of applying eyeshadow.
To create professional-looking eye makeup easily at home, the user places a stencil over eyelids, using it as a guide. The stencils are sold in the brand's patented kits, which contain templates, brushes, and instructions. The stencils include positioning markers for symmetrical placement and application.
The brand's second patent is pending. It is for applying layered eye shadow that creates a sophisticated gradient effect.
The stencils are made with reusable BPA and phthalate-free food-grade LDPE plastic.
Kerri M. Butcher, president and founder of Miné Stencils commented on why the brand launched the new tool, saying, “Makeup is a daily pick-me-up for many, even in times of anxiety and uncertainty we are experiencing with COVID-19. Changing beauty trends resulting from the use of face masks call for more emphasis on the eyes and consequently, we see an uptick in consumer demand for eye shadow.”
Will the stencils work for everyone's face and eye shape? The brand says they consulted with makeup artists and tested prototypes on over 100 women of various ethnicities and ages. Based on this research, Miné Stencils says it designed its stencils to be universal -- regardless of different facial features, such as the size or shape of the eye or the brow height.
